About Me

Up close and personal...

I was born in Rome, Italy, on July 6th 1967. At 18:30. It was a Thursday.
My star sign is Cancer, ascendent in Sagittarius.

I was abandoned by my birth people and adopted a few months later by my parents.
My childhood was a happy one. As an only child, I never felt lonely or misunderstood; on the contrary, I had all the love a child can get and more.

I used to spend some of my summer holidays in Rome, visiting some relatives who lived in one of the richest, most exclusive areas of the capital.
Books surrounded me, and that is how I started my journey in to art. Soon, I felt I did not just want to read books, I also wanted to write them! My head was filled with so many stories that needed to be told.

As teenage years approached, a sudden change in my personality turned me in to a moody and at times negative person.
I felt under heavy pressure from the outside world, and once again found solace in books: they truly were my salvation. In particular, I was very fond of one: Franz Kafka's "America"!

Kafka has been an obsession of mine since age 13, my passion for his work has never subsided.

My other passions included rock music and football. I have been a JUVENTUS supporter all my life.
Whenever he could, Dad used to take me to see JUVE games, as he also shared my love for this glorious football club. Nowadays, it is Mum my partner in crime, and there is no one more devoted and passionate about JUVENTUS than my own mother.

I was always addicted to movies. That is why I enrolled in the London International Film School.
My free spirit did not fit in with the stale structure of the school, but I still managed to complete a year of the course and even wrote, directed and produced a rock documentary, which is to this day my pride and joy.

I lived in London for nearly twelve years. I had different jobs and met an incredible amount of people.
I also joined the Pagan Federation and thanks to this organization, I was able to establish some strong relationships with other amazing Pagans and Wiccans.

In the latest years of my London permanence, I worked for the Anti-Vivisection Society, as I wanted to be pro-active in the fight for animal rights.

I am a dreamer, an eleven-year-old child stuck in a woman's body.
All I want to do is have fun, play, enjoy the moment.
I do not want to grow up, I refuse to let go of my childish self.

I think there are at least three people in me, and we often fight for our spot in the sun, so to speak. But do not be fooled by the bickering over supremacy: this unholy trinity is vital to my survival.

Finally, I am in Sweden, a country I have always dreamt of exploring. What is in the past, stays there for good.
I love all the places I have been, some more than others; they have made me gain more knowledge and contributed to putting the big picture in focus. Perhaps it is here I now have to stay.

I have never really felt wanted anywhere, but I made sure it did not bother me.
I am not perfect. Not the smartest one or the prettiest.
I am a child, remember?
All that matters to me is here and now.
I will think of tomorrow when tomorrow comes!

Taking a break from work

Rosaria, the Writer!

I can only do one thing: and that is write!
I am convinced that looking for other options is just a waste of time. I have done other things, but I have always come back to this.
I can write both in English and Italian. Although, English is the language I am more comfortable with right now.
There! I have said it: I write. I am a WRITER! This is what I am here for.

My favourite poem (by W.E. Henley)

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud:

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

W.E. Henley
